Welcome
Established in 2007 Janaki FM is the independent community broadcasting station in South Asia. Broadcasting daily from the Janakpur on FM 106 MHz from 5 am to 11 pm, the station, goal is to earn a name as a free, independent and highly credible radio station in keeping with its objectives of producing a cadre of professional journalists, addressing the information needs of audiences, stimulating awareness and participation in public issues, and facilitating democratization and pluralism.
Friends of Janaki FM
"Friends of Janaki FM" is a scheme where you become a member and you will be entitled to benefits from Janaki FM such as participation in discussion programmes of the station, voicing opinions through the radio, special consideration in on-air announcements, subscription to news and much more.
Janaki FM works in collaboration with local interest groups, NGOs and development agencies to produce radio programmes under three models.

Career-oriented volunteers are an increasingly important part of Janaki FM's team. We encourage community participation and are always working to improve our training programmes for volunteers.

Entertainment Programmes
Besides these we are broadcasting entertainment music programs in Nepali, Maithilee, Bhojpauri and Hindi (folks, cinema, gazals etc.). Hilor (Bhojpuri), Sargam (Hindi), Sursudha (Maithili), Geet Tarang (Maithili) and Ramjham (Nepali) are very popular among them.
